Cora died January 22, 1980 in Hancock Co, OH., at 99 years of age. Her body was interred. Buried in Hasson Cemetery, Orange Twp, Hancock Co, OH.

She died at 8am Tuesday at Winebrenner Haven Extended Care Facility, where she resided. She was born October 9, 1880, in Fairfield County, to Joseph A and Sara Catherine (Ety) Fisher. SHe married Charles Frederick Gorby and he died in 1960. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Lloyd (Marcella) Starliter, Findlay; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Mrs Gorby was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bethel Church of Christ, near Ada. Rev Leland Quay officiated. Burial was in Hasson Cemetery, Orange Township.

Ref: MSG1 - "Fred" Gorby was a farmer and his family lived for a time on the farm once owned by his great-grandfather Joseph Gorby. The family lost the farm after the economic collapse of 1929 and moved to Rawson, OH. Fred drove a school bus as his primary occupation and he and his wife Cora hung wallpaper as a sideline.

Ref: Bluffton News Obit, Thursday January 21, 1960, pg 8-7.16.99 Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for C F Gorby, 77, former Rawson street commissioner and school bus driver, who died at 5:30am Sunday at his residence in Rawson. The Rev Leland Quay and the Rev George Rickard officiated at the service with burial in Hassen cemetery. The Basinger funeral home, Bluffton, was in charge of arrangements. Born January 16, 1883 in Orange township, Mr Gorby was the son of Samuel T and Caroline (Zehrbach) Gorby. He married Cora Fisher, May 25, 1902 and she survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs Lloyd (Marcella) Starliper, Findlay; a sister, Mrs Charles Baker, Ada; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A son and a daughter are deceased. He was a member of the Bethel Church of Christ.
