She married Lloyd Starliper in Napolean, OH., April 5, 1941. Lloyd was born in Seneca Co, OH. October 27, 1912. Lloyd was the son of James Raymond Starliper and Elsie B Fritz. Lloyd died September 29, 1972 in Columbus, OH., at 59 years of age. His body was interred. Buried in Findlay, Hancock Co, OH. Ref: BK07

Marcella (Gorby) Starliper was born in Orange Twp, Hancock Co, OH on her father Charles Frederick Gorby's farm located about a half mile north of Riley Creek Baptisy Church. She was named after her aunt Goldia Gertrude Gorby, and her uncle Earl Gorby suggested "Marcella" to her father.

The farm where she was born originally belonged to her great-great-grandfather Joseph, son of Samuel George, which he started in the 1840s. The farm was lost to the Gorby family during the Great Depression which followed the stock market crash of 1929. Marcella remembers her parents making maple syrup from the trees which grew on the farm.
