He married twice. He married Maude Darling. Maude was born November 8, 1885. Maude died March 1973 in Lima, Allen Co, OH., at 87 years of age. Ref: HSB1, MGS1, SSDI

He married Hala V Robnolte in Hancock Co, OH., April 14, 1907. Hala was born in Orange Twp, Hancock Co, OH. May 5, 1886. Hala died 1910 at 24 years of age. Her body was interred. Buried in Hassan Cemetery, Orange Twp, Hancock Co, OH. Ref: BK07

Earl resided :. In 1936, 104 Oregon Rd, Toledo, OH. Ref: BK07 - The Marriage Records for Hancock Co have an entry for Earl Gorby and Hala Robnoltr. Information on the application states: Earl Gorby, age 21, his birthday being November 1, born in Hancock Co, the son of S T Gorby and Caroline Zarbaugh. Hala Robnoltr, age 21, birthday May 5, born in Orange Twp, Hancock Co, OH, the daughter of A W Robnoltr and Miea (?) Slrahur (?) (the handwriting was very difficult to read). They were married April 14, 1907 by W W Scothorn, JP. The application gives Earl's occupation as "oil worker".

Ref: Bluffton News Obit, Thursday October 16, 1941, pg 8-7.16.99 Funeral services for Earl Gorby, 54 of Deshler, were held at that place Wednesday morning, followed by internment in Hassen cemetery in Orange Township. Gorby who died in Lima Memorial hospital following a siz weeks' illness was the son of Samuel Gorby of near Bluffton. He was for a number of years a conductor on the Baltimore & Ohio railroad. Besides his father, he is survived by his wife Maude; a sister, Mrs Goldie Baker of near Bluffton and a brother Fred of Rawson.

Earl Gorby and Hala V Robnolte had the following child:

4214 i. Howard L⁹ Gorby was born in OH. 1907. Howard died 1930 at 23 years of age. His body was interred. Buried in Hassan Cemetery, Orange Twp, Hancock Co, OH. He married Anna Mary DuPere. Ref: HSB1 - Howard Gorby's mother Hala (Robinalt) Gorby died when he was very young, and he was raised by his grandparents Samuel and Caroline Gorby. After his father remarried, he would visit him in Toledo, OH on vacations.
