Ref: CEN1900 - William Henry Gorby lived in Orange Twp, Hancock Co, OH. Only daughters Orpha and Nora listed as living with him. Nora also listed as living with a foster family on same Census. Sons Arthur, Charles and Alfred in the Findlay Orphans' Home, and daughter Pearl was living with her grandmother.

Ref: CEN1910 - Name was spelled 'Garby' on this Census. Daughter Nora living with him in Hancock Co, OH. Wife Clarisa listed. Also listed was granddaughter Lulu B Manly, no age born in OH and grandson Theodore R Reed, age 5 born in OH. Parents of Theodore not known.

2900 iv. Nora M Gorby was born in OH. August 1888. Ref: CEN1900 - Was living as foster-daughter with Christopher A Saltzmann, Biglick Twp, Hancock Co, OH. Was also listed a second time as living with her father, William Henry Gorby in Orange Twp, Hancock Co, OH.

2902 vi. Alfred Pierce Gorby was born in Orange Twp, Hancock Co, OH. October 2, 1894. Alfred died February 11, 1977 in Lutheran General Hospital, San Antonio, TX., at 82 years of age. Alfred participated in the Resided event 1936 in Fostoria, OH.. Ref: GWG1-7.19.99 - Listed incorrectly in the 1935 Gorby Book as 'D Pierce Gorby'.

Ref: Bluffton New Obit, Thursday February 17, 1977, pg 11-7.16.99 Funeral services for Alfred Piercy Gorby, 82, San Antonio, Texas, were held Monday afternoon at Riebe Saunders Funeral Chapel, San Antonio. He died Friday in Lutheran General Hospital, San Antonio. He was born October 2, 1894 in Orange Township to Henry and Suz (Kline) Gorby. He was a former fruit saleman. The body was cremeted and burial was in Hasson Cemetery. Paul Diller and Son Chapel was in charge of local arrangements. (Note: GWG1-7.16.99 - Neither funeral chapel was able to find any paperwork on Alfred Gorby. A small metal plaque marks his grave in Hassan Cemetery.)
