1215. Robert Davidson⁶ Gorby (Vincent Parsons⁵, Daniel⁴, Ebenezer³, Thomas², Samuel¹) was born in Cameron, WV. January 4, 1868. Robert died January 8, 1937 at 69 years of age.

He married twice. He married Armilda Betty Judy. Armilda resided :. Mountain Home, ID. Ref: KTD1-8.21.99 - This source states middle name is 'Belle'.

He married Tennie ?. Tennie resided :. TN. Ref: KTD1-8.21.99 - States she was from Tennessee.

Robert resided :. In 1936, Glenns Ferry, ID. (1936) Robert Davidson Gorby moved to Glenns Ferry, ID in 1889. At that time the old site of Glenns Ferry was at the crossing of the Oregon Trail and Snake River, about one mile up the river from the present site of Glenns Ferry. The Blackfoot Indian Reservation was nearby, and in those days the Indians rode free on freight trains.

Mr Gorby says wild life was found in abundance on the plains and in the mountains. He remembers the earlt settlers going out and filling the wagon box heaping full of grouse, sage hens and prairie chickens. Deer and antelope, which were numerous then, are nearly extinct. Wild horses were rounded up each year and shipped to nearby canneries for dog food.

Mr Gorby has been in the general mercantile business and ranching practically ever since he arrived in Glenns Ferry. He has taken an active interest in upbuilding southern Idaho in general, and Glenns Ferry in particular. He is a Democrat, and for many years was a directror of the King Hill Irrigation District, the Elmore County Highway District, and is a representative in the State Legislature.

Like many of the descendants of Ebenezer Gorby, he is a member of the Christian Church.
