725. Ella Benton6 Gorby (Josephus5, John4, Job3, Thomas2, Samuel1) was born in OH. October 7, 1861.

She married William J Tappan July 11, 1883. William was born August 23, 1860. William died February 20, 1936 at 75 years of age. (1936) In 1881, William Tappan founded the Ohio Valley Foundry Co in Bellaire, OH. In 1889 he took the company to Mansfield, OH, then known as the Eclipse Stove Works, and later the Tappan Stove Co. Mr Tappan was at one time president of the Globe Steel Abrasive Co.

He was a 32nd degree Mason, an active worker in the YMCA, and an earnest worker in the Christian Church. Mr and Mrs Tappan have always been delightfully hospitable and kindly people, gracious in manner, people well worth knowing.

Ella resided :. In 1936, 308 Park Ave W, Mansfield, OH.

child 1820 v. Allan Prescott Tappan was born August 2, 1894. He married Maud Stamm. (1936) Allan Prescott Tappan is also connected with the Tappan Stove Co.
