1439. Raymond Orrin⁷ Gorby (Horace Finton⁶, Jacob⁵, Jonathon⁴, Joseph³, Joseph², Samuel¹) was born in Rawson, Union Twp, Hancock Co, OH. June 20, 1898. Raymond died January 5, 1933 in Rawson, Union Twp, Hancock Co, OH., at 34 years of age. His body was interred. Buried at Flick Cemetery, N of Rawson.

He married Roxanna Dale Hews in Rawson, Union Twp, Hancock Co, OH., July 23, 1919. Roxanna was born in Rawson, Union Twp, Hancock Co, OH. March 20, 1897. Roxanna is the daughter of Porter Sylvester Hews and Zoa Ann Falk. Ref: JCW1 - The 1936 Gorby Book incorrectly listed her name as Dale Hughes. (1936) Raymond Orrin Gorby was baptized and united with the U.B. Church at the tender age of six years. He spent his boyhood on his father's farm E of Rawson and as his father grew older and retired from too active life Raymond took over the entire management of the farm.

He was a good husband and father, but at an early age tragedy stepped in. His stock truck was struck by a train and both he and his driver lost their lives.
