132. Edward James5 Gorby (Richard4, Joseph3, Joseph2, Samuel1) was born in Chester, PA. August 23, 1831. Edward died March 19, 1867 in Pittsburgh, PA., at 35 years of age.

He married Clara D Mamaux. Clara was born in Pittsburgh, PA. 1832. Clara was the daughter of Leon A Mamaux and Susanne Maden. (1936) Edward James Gorby was a plasterer by trade, but later he and his wife had large stables of riding and driving horses in Pittsburgh, PA. After his death his wife had a splendid business alone until her death, when the business was carried on for a time by her son, Leon Antonio Gorby.

CEN1850: Edward James Gorby lived in Lower Chinchester, Delaware Co, PA with his mother. Age 20, Occupation Plasterer.

Edward James Gorby and Clara D Mamaux had the following children:

child 629 i. Leon Antonio6 Gorby was born in Allegheny City, PA. June 8, 1860. Leon died September 25, 1937 in E Palestine, Columbiana Co, OH., at 77 years of age. (1936) After selling out his livery stable business, Leon Antonio Gorby bought a farm near East Palestine, OH, where he still lives. He has always been interested in working out the Gorby ancestry and history, and is author of "The Gorby Ode and Song", a very clever and witty poem with a bit of history included.
