Jesse died November 15, 1928 in Independence, Montgomery Co, KS., at 45 years of age. His body was interred. Buried in Greenwood Cemetery, east edge of Sedan, KS.

He married Nellie Maude McClain in Chatauqua Co, KS., October 17, 1906. Nellie was born in Grenola, Elk Co, KS. February 23, 1889. Nellie was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin McClain and Emmaline Sabina Carey. Nellie died January 24, 1958 in Sedan, Chatauqua Co, KS., at 68 years of age. Her body was interred.
