221. Mary Ann⁵ Gorby (John Ryan⁴, Eli³, Thomas², Samuel¹) was born in Tyler (Wetzel) Co, VA (WV). February 1840. Mary died April 1864 in Wetzel Co, WV., at 24 years of age.

She married Boaz Boyleston Postlethwaite in Wetzel Co, WV., October 25, 1857. Boaz was born in Tyler Co, VA. October 11, 1837. Boaz was the son of Emmanuel H Postlethwaite and Elizabeth Buckalew. Boaz died August 22, 1922 in Wetzel Co, WV., at 84 years of age. (1978) Could also be Bose Postlethwaite. Mary Ann Gorby was 1st wife.

(1978) Boaz Postlethwaite was age 85 when he died in 1922, at that time the oldest resident of Wetzel Co. He was a farmer and sheepman of Centre District, work conscientiously for the good of country and state, was a Baptist and Democrat. In 1870 he was elected County Assessor, in 1880, County Sherriff. Of his 14 children, 3 died in infancy. (1978) Died at age 24, leaving at least 2 children.

Mary Ann Gorby and Boaz Boyleston Postlethwaite had the following children:

+ 861 i. Martha J⁶ Postlethwaite was born ABT. DEC 1859.

+ 862 ii. Selby Postlethwaite was born ABT. 1 JAN 1862.

863 iii. Rebecca Postlethwaite was born in Wetzel Co, WV. January 1859. Rebecca died February 1859 at less than one year of age. Her body was interred. Buried in Emanuel's Cemetery, Postle Ridge, Wetzel Co, WV.

864 iv. V Elias Postlethwaite was born in Wetzel Co, WV. 1863. V died 1864 at 1 year of age. His body was interred. Buried in Emanuel's Cemetery, Postle Ridge, Wetzel Co, WV.
