797. Leota May6 Gorby (John Richmond5, David4, Job3, Thomas2, Samuel1) was born in OH. August 16, 1876.

She married twice. She married Morris Danford August 30, 1899. She married Mansel La Follette August 2, 1917. Sibling info: Was a Methodist Minister. (1936) Leota May Gorby was born and received her common school education in Hiramsburg, OH, later attending Normal School and Scio College, OH, then teaching in Nobel Co for several years.

In 1924 she was licenced a local preacher in the M E Church, while they were serving a local circuit at Mountville, OH. After six years of study she was ordained "Deacon" at the Broad Street M E Church in Columbus, OH, and after two more years of study was ordained "Elder" at Lakeside, OH. During these years she has preached many sermons, officiated at funerals, performed marriage ceremonies, and assisted her husband in every possible manner.

Besides this work she has taught in an Emergency School in Belmont Co, OH and worked on a Federal Project known as the National Writer's Project.

child + 1928 iii. Howard Gorby Danford.

child + 1929 iv. Harold Rowland Danford.

child 1930 v. Paul Louis Danford. He married Sylvia Hunter. (1936) Paul Louis Danford is a graduate of Bealsville, OH, high school, two years at Ohio University and now preparing for the undertaking profession.
