766. Levi⁶ Gorby (Thomas⁵, Levi⁴, Job³, Thomas², Samuel¹) was born in Lilly Chapel, OH. April 29, 1862.

He married Minnie Frances Maize October 19, 1898. Minnie died January 26, 1913 in Hitchcock, OK.. (1936) Levi Gorby attended school at Lilly Chapel, OH and helped his father on the farm and in the store until 1885, when he went to Ashland, KA, where he lived until the opening of Oklahoma in 1887.

He went to Hitchcock, OK, near which he filed a claim. He still has this claim and 320 acres upon which he has been a successful farmer and rancher.

Levi Gorby and Minnie Frances Maize had the following children:

1867 i. Perry Ernest⁷ Gorby was born in Near Hitchcock, OK. August 1, 1899. (1936) Perry Ernest Gorby was born on his father's homestead. He attended school in Hitchcock, then farmed for several years. For the past 12 years he has been employed by the Universal Atlas Cement Co, and is now Superintendent of the Universal Atlas Cement Co, Gypsum Plant at Watonga. He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis Club at Watonga.

+ 1868 ii. Florence Gorby was born January 6, 1901.

+ 1869 iii. Edith Gorby was born July 19, 1903.

1870 iv. Irene Gorby was born in Near Hitchcock, OK. April 1, 1906. (1936) Irene Gorby lives with her father on his homestead near Hitchcock, OK. If she manages her home with the speed and efficiency with which she gathered the data concerning the descendants of Levi Gorby it must be well managed indeed. One like her in each family would make our book complete.
