465. Eli⁶ Gorby (Jacob⁵, Jonathon⁴, Joseph³, Joseph², Samuel¹) was born in Eagle Twp, Hancock Co, OH. June 21, 1849. Eli died August 12, 1924 in Findlay, OH., at 75 years of age.

He married twice. He married Ellen Turner. Ellen was born in MI. ABT. 1843. Ref: CEN1880 - Listed as "Ella".

He married Sarah Lightfoot April 4, 1888. Sarah was born in OH. February 1863. Sarah resided :. In 1936, 422 Cherry St, Findlay, OH. Ref: CEN1900 (1936) Eli Gorby was born on his parent's farm 3 miles NE of Rawson. When a few years old his parents moved to farm one-half mile south of his birthplace, and a part of this farm is still owned by his widow Sarah (Lightfoot) Gorby. Half of this farm Eli's father deeded him at death, and Eli lived on this farm until he retired from business in 1920 and moved to Findlay, OH.

He was a member of the M.E. Church all his life. While on his farm, he was also a member of the Eagle Township school board, and also a member of the Grange order in Rawson.

Most of Eli Gorby's descendants live in Hancock Co, OH.
