Telephone operator at old Auld Hotel Mary G. Hough, 90, of North Main Street, Washington, formerly of Malone Ridge Road, died Tuesday, June 16, 1998, in Washington Hospital.

She was born May 3, 1908, in Washington, a daughter of Harry and Viola Baldwin Gorby.

Mrs. Hough was employed as a telephone operator at the old Auld Hotel for many years.

She has been a member for 69 years at the First United Presbyterian Church. She was active in the Women's Federation, Ladies Aide Society and the Proudfit Bible Class and she enjoyed arts and crafts.

On June 12, 1929, she married Sheldon S. Hough, who died June 16, 1987.

Surviving are five grandchildren, Sharon L. Lemley, Judy L. Caldwell, R. Matthew Hough, Beth A. Boehm and Jami L. Smith; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Deceased are a son, Robert D. Hough; a daughter, Doris H. Hickman; and a brother, John Gorby.
