441. Ezekiel Grant⁵ Gorby (Ezekial⁴, John G³, Thomas², Samuel¹) was born in Near Moundsville, WV. March 5, 1864. Ezekiel died March 6, 1949 in Marshall, WV., at 85 years of age. His body was interred. Buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Moundsville, WV.

He married Amanda Hopkins in Bowman Ridge, Marshall, WV., September 9, 1886. Amanda was born in Marshall, WV. June 3, 1867. Amanda was the daughter of W F Hopkins. Amanda died December 25, 1959 in Marshall, WV., at 92 years of age. Her body was interred. buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Moundsville, WV. Ref: WJB1. 2.18.98 - has d. date Ref: KM1 - Cemetery info. (1936) Ezekiel Grant Gorby was born on the farm first owned by John Gorby, then by Ezekiel, and now by Grant and the other heirs, and where he now lives, about ten miles out of Moundsville, WV, on Little Graves Creek, beyond Rosby's Rock.

He is a farmer, cultivating the land that has been in his family for over 100 years and farmed by five generations, as now some of his grandsons are living with him, helping him with his farming, the only one of Ezekiel's children who remained a farmer.

Grant Gorby is a keen thinker, a good speaker and debater, is alive to the questions of the day, interested in music, in fact is keeping abreast of the times.

He has been very active in collecting information concerning the descendants of John and Elizabeth (Barnett) Gorby, and of others of the III generation, finding the burial places of the older Gorbys, and giving most valuable help in every way.

He and his wife are good mixers, kindly, and most hospitable and gracious as host and hostess, making one want to go again to their friendly home.

1399 ii. Clyde Otho Gorby was born in Marshall Co, VA. July 17, 1888. Clyde died July 20, 1922 at 34 years of age. His body was interred. Buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Moundsville, WV. Ref: KM1 - Cemetery info. Ref: BK20-7.23.99 - Vol 2, Pg 49.
