Melba Mae Gorby Beard (1907-1987)

In 1935, Melba Gorby Beard won the Amelia Earhart Trophy at the 1935 National Air Races in Cleveland, OH. This photo is from about that time.
Melba Gorby Beard was the 24th woman in the US to receive the (then) Transport (now Commercial) pilot license and was also the editor/publisher of the 1978 Gorby Family Book.
