Sylvester Scott Gorby
Sylvester Scott Gorby (1848-1930). This picture probably taken in the 1900s.

Following his father Thomas, Sylvestor Scott Gorby served as a scout in the Confederate army at the age of 15 years. He later went on to become the State Geologist of Indiana and wrote several books on the geology of that state which are still used as reference today.
