Thomas Gorby was married three times. Martha A Asbury was his third wife. This picture probably taken in the 1860s.

According to Alva Gorby's 1936 Gorby Book, Thomas stands alone as being the only Gorby to have been a slave owner. He moved to Knox Co, Missouri in 1858 and he and his three oldest sons enlisted with the Confederate army during the War.
