William resided :. In 1936, 299 Wiles St, Morganstown, WV. (1936) William P Bonar was born at Moundsville, WV ans was reared on a farm in Marshall Co, WV about 12 miles from the place of his birth.

He was educated in the public schools, taught two years, attended West Virginia University two years, the West Penn Medical College one year, then to the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Baltimore, MD, where he was graduated in 1906. He took the examinations for licenses in three states in which he was licensed to practice medecine - Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Florida.

He practiced his profession at Moundsville, WV from 1906 to 1931, when he became incapacitated for practice as the result of blood poisoning and subsequent multiple arthritis and a broken leg.

Besides practicing medecine and surgery, he taught obstetrics in the Reynolds Memorial Hospital at Glendale, WV for 16 years and pediatrics for two years.

William P Bonar married Grace L Bonar at Moundsville, WV, and to this union were born five children, four of whom are still living, and have taught school, three havinf their degrees from West Virginia University, and the youngest will have his AB degree from that school in 1936 and will strive to finish in a medical college. Another son is a graduate of Tri-State College of Engineering at Angola, IN.

Both Dr and Mrs Bonar have been active in Girl Scout work for several years. Their oldest daughter, Alma, along with Miriam Stultz, were the first Golden Eaglets in the State of West Virginia, and Alma is still working at "Girl Scouting". Naomi Jean is also a Golden Eaglet, and was a Red Cross life saver in Scout camps for a time.

The entire family united with the Methodist Church at Moundsville, WV. Dr Bonar was president of the Mounsville Rotary Club in 1930, director in a bank since 1930, and is a Mason.

Dr Bonar has been most helpful in collecting information about the Bonar branch of the Gorby family, for which sincere appreciation is given.
