237. Zadoc Selby⁵ Gorby (William⁴, Eli³, Thomas², Samuel¹) was born in Wetzel Co, WV. March 1, 1859.

He married Amanda M Coates in Wetzel Co, WV., February 26, 1880. Amanda was born in Wetzel Co, WV. November 20, 1860. Ref: CEN1900 (1978) Zadoc Selby Gorby was the only living child of William Gorby. He was a farmer and truck grower, and served on the Board of Education nearly a quarter century. He was Republican and a Methodist, active in all lines of church work, which had always been first in his life, giving it his whole hearted support. In community life he was a fighter for the right, a good public speaker, witty, and had a pleasing and forceful personality.
