He married Donna Lou Price May 15, 1952. Donna was born September 10, 1933. Ref: CMG1 Robert D. Gorby served with the United States Air Force Security Service with the 6916th Security Squadron at Rhein-Main Air Base, Germany during the years 1961-1963. At that time, he was a Russian linguist.

He was killed in an automobile accident.
