505. Parmelia A6 Gorby (Jacob5, Samuel George4, Joseph3, Joseph2, Samuel1) was born in Meigs Co, Oh. May 16, 1848. Parmelia died March 8, 1931 in Rawson, Hancock Co, OH., at 82 years of age.
She married John J Hawk February 20, 1867. John was born October 1, 1845. John died June 11, 1918 in Rawson, Hancock Co, OH., at 72 years of age. (1936) John J Hawk was a Civil War veteran. He enlisted first in Co H, 140th Reg Ohio Vol Inf on May 2, 1864, mustered in May 10, 1864 at Gallipolis, OH by W P McCleary, mustered out September 3, 1864. Second he enrolled in Co C, 194th Reg Ohio Vol Inf, February 20, 1865, mustered in March 13, 1865 at Camp Chase, OH by W P Richardson, mustered out October 24, 1865. (1936) Parmelia (Gorby) Hawk was much interested in Gorby genealogy, and had a complete list of Samuel George Gorby's (3rd generation) children and grandchildren with dates of births, marriages and some deaths, also a list of the brothers and sisters of Samuel, the children of Joseph Gorby.
Her family records have been of great help in compiling the records of Samuel Gorby's family, and she, together with several others of her generation who were interested in Gorby history, would have enjoyed helping with a published volume of Gorby Genealogy.
She and her husband lived for many years in Rawson, OH. Both are buried at Rawson.

1505 vi. Leonard Hawk was born December 8, 1877. Leonard resided :. In 1936, General Delivery, San Francisco, CA.
Leonard's Military Service:. Spanish-American War veteran and WWI veteran.
+ 1506 vii. Victoria Hawk was born May 16, 1880.
1507 viii. Herbert Hawk was born May 8, 1883. Herbert died April 22, 1909 at 25 years of age.
